FREE (or nearly free!) Internet Access!

Due to COVID-19, the FCC has an emergency broadband benefit that will provide up to $50 per month toward home broadband service.

You apply for the program through your internet provider.  If you have Internet Essentials ($10-20/mo) internet through Xfinity/Comcast, this credit is in addition to that program! All you have to do is go here, sign in, and complete the application form.

If you don't have/qualify for internet essentials, you'll have to be approved through the Universal Service Administrative Co. at  All SMG families qualify both through SMG's Title I status and the USDA Community Eligibility Provision participation for free lunches.  Any family that has not already qualified through Lifeline just needs to fill out the application and once approved go back to your provider.

If you don't qualify for Internet Essentials and can't otherwise afford internet service or have limited options, check into T-Mobile Home Internet.  Service is $60/mo, so after the EBB it is down to $10/mo with no commitment, setup fees, or equipment fees.

All providers in this area are participating, including:

Other providers including Boost, Metro, Tracfone, Verizon and more are also participating.  See the whole list here.
